Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Note: 1, Universität Wien (Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Proseminar: Einführung in die Theaterwissenschaft, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den ersten fünf Kapiteln seiner „Poetik“ befasst sich Aristoteles mit allen drei Richtungen der Dichtkunst, dem Epos, der Komödie und der Tragödie. Er führt in folgende Begriffe, die auch eine Tragödie ausmachen, ein: die Mimesis bzw. die Nachahmung, die Handlung, die sich mit besseren Menschen befasst, in sich geschlossen ist und eine bestimmte Größe besitzt, sowie die Sprache mit Melodie und Rhythmus als Mittel der Nachahmung. Ab dem sechsten Kapitel bezieht sich Aristoteles nur noch auf die Tragödie, ihre Gestalt, ihren Aufbau, ihren Zweck und ihre Wirkung. Dabei geht er besonders intensiv auf den Begriff Mythos ein, den ich mir als Thema meiner Arbeit gewählt habe. Mir geht es vor allem darum, darzulegen, was Aristoteles unter dem Mythos versteht, welche Bedeutung er innerhalb seiner Tragödiendefinition einnimmt und wie dieser Mythos aufgebaut sein muss, um seinen Zweck zu erfüllen, nämlich die Katharsis durch Eleos und Phobos.
