Für Fabienne ist mit dem Tod ihrer Mutter eine Welt zusammengebrochen, sie hat das Lachen verlernt. Von ihrem Vater will sie nichts wissen, und mit Tieren hat sie gleich gar nichts am Hut. Sie ist ein völlig anderes Leben gewohnt, der Bauernhof nervt sie.
Philipp ist fast ebenso unglücklich wie seine Tochter. So, sagen sich die Tiere, kann das nicht weitergehen. Doch was können sie tun, damit Fabienne das Lachen wieder lernt, damit Philipp seine Sorgen vergisst? Sie zerbrechen sich die Köpfe und haben die verrücktesten Einfälle.
Als die Katze Prinzessin herausfindet, wie sehr Fabienne Musik mag und dass sie wunderbar tanzen kann, kommen die Tiere auf die Idee, ein Konzert zu geben wie die Bremer Stadtmusikanten. Oder sollten sie vielleicht einen Tanz einstudieren?
Erst einmal geht alles schief, das Durcheinander wird immer größer. Und das Happy End, dass sie sich wünschen, scheint in weiter Ferne zu liegen …
